Traumatic Tuesdays are Not Allowed!

Well…the week has officially started and today is my hump day.Mondays are an intoxicating mixture of planning,communication,development,presentation,acceptance,and execution.You could say yesterday was an Irish coffee morning ending with Ron Facapa rum and a cigar.
Today I’m hungover from yesterday’s emotional shots of success and failure… spread over twelve hours.If I can get through today without anyone’s drama or traumatic declarations the battle has been won.Most of the worst days I’ve experienced happened on Tuesdays.For that reason alone my policy is to lay low and spend my time on research,practice my guitar or steel drum, and work on a new book or lyrics for my latest CD.
As you may imagine,I don’t tend to make myself too available on Tuesdays.My reasoning?I can’t get sucked into someone else’s battles with life if they can’t reach me.For that reason alone…I tend to travel on Tuesdays.Today is my travel day.Airports usually suffice as a mobile office for making mandatory client calls,checking my emails,researching on the internet,and having a great excuse for being unreachable!Can you imagine the message I can use?”Hi.You have reached my answering service because I’m traveling today and won’t be in the office until Wednesday.Feel free to email your requests and concerns and I will respond to your queries in a timely fashion.” It’s true.I do get back to eveyone in a timely fashion…on Wednesday!
Tonight after spending 4 hours on my public relations business, I’ll put on my musician hat and practice for a bit.There is no telling when that session will end.If you heard me play guitar you’d know I need practice.Luckily people come out to hear me sing and play the steel drums.Since my instruments are being tuned right now or in another city…and I always travel with my trusty acoustic guitar…I might as well get better.People actually believe I’m a good guitarist.I guess q-tips are a luxury right now in this economic crunch or most are tone deaf!I always appreciate compliments no matter how much I believe some people are just being nice.Tonight’s practice session is for everyone who encourages me and promotes me.Without you I’d probably pick up the bagpipes next.
Now let me make this clear about my Tuesdays.Since I have two cell phones…only one gets answered.If a person has that number they know me well enough to delay dying until Wednesday, know I suck on guitar and need the practice, or simply calling me because I’m on their mind and they want me to know it.If a person is lucky enough to possess that number…they already know I care about them and chances are I am probably not calling them today…but they understand.
You see…in my world…the only difference between dreams and reality is a plan.Planning plus execution equals goal attainment.Tuesday is a planning day.Wednesday I execute.Tonight I meditate and acknowledge the one goal I had no control over…and achieved today…I woke up to experience another day.Everything else was downhill.

Why did it take so long to figure out this giant was discriminatory towards women? Maybe the class action suit will wake those Waltons up! It took nine years to get to this point. It could cost BILLIONS! Yeah justice.

Lower Blood Pressure

Why hasn’t the Surgeon General in the U.S. taken the lead of Minister Jose Temporao in Brazil and declared sex as a proper exercise to lower blood pressure?

Black people who blame slavery for the reason they aren’t educated

Because of slavery and the agreement of how wrong it was…every effort has been made to make libraries and books available. It’s not slavery…it’s lack of bravery to thrive…not survive. When’s the last time someone held a gun to your head and said “Don’t you dare pick up that book!” You are running out of excuses. No one’s holding you down…you just won’t get up! I am a black man too…if you don’t like what I have to say… prove me wrong. Define opportunity with action. I did.No excuses.None.Sue me. The truth hurts.
